What is required for entrance into the ALS program?
Complete the Graduate School Application Packet and attend an on-campus interview.
Do I have to take the General Record Exam (GRE) or the Miller's Analogy Test (MAT) for entrance into the ALS program?
No, neither the GRE nor MAT is required for entrance into the ALS program.
Can I transfer previously completed graduate credits into the program?
No. This sixty credit, three-year academic package is designed to
provide continuous skill development in leadership, writing, reading,
and research. Faculty members who teach the required courses meet
regularly to provide innovative and stimulating learning experiences.
Candidacy examination of requirements?
Students begin writing the first chapter of their dissertation during
the first year in the ALS program. The first chapter of the student's
proposed dissertation is reviewed by the program coordinator. If
approved then the candidacy requirement is met.
Can I enter to the ALS program at any time?
No. The program is based on a two-year recruitment cycle. The new
cohort will begin in 2010. Public school Administrators will begin
classes during the summer of 2010. Higher education personnel
will begin classes during the fall of 2010.
When and where does the cohort meet?
All required courses meet on Fridays (11.00am to 6 pm) and Saturdays (8:00 am to 3:00 pm) five times per semester.
Most classes will meet in Room 138 Stouffer Hall.
