Allows you to search alphabetically
for occupational information, nature of work, working conditions, employment,
earnings, job outlook, provides sites for other useful sorces of information,
provides link to BLS, provides training and other qualifications,
and has a link for the OOQ (Occupational Outlook Quarterly) newsletter.
This can be done by searching for a specific job, multiple occupations,
or by searching all job occupations.
Gives information on employment growth
for all states, progection ranges available for 1998-2008. It also allows
you to select an occupation, state, and sort it by numerical change, percent
change or average annual openings. It provides projected employment growth
among occupations to be compared within a state. It is designed to help
people make more informed career decisions.
Includes economy at a glance, career
guides, inflation and spending, working and looking for work, earnings,
worker safety and health, productivity, international and regional statistics,

This is a site to allow you to search
for jobs by category or location, find information on salaries and jobs,
do career planning, and it allows you to post your resume online. It also
suggests helpful books and provides a place to post jobs. This site
contains a diversity job center as well. New featrues include start-a-business
and complete a self-assessment.
This provides skills and resources of
help for writing resumes, finding a job, diverse communities, and online
career fairs. It also allows for making your own website and for searching
for jobs via zipcode.
This site allows one to post resumes,
search for jobs from its own database and from 150 of the top rated job
sites on the Internet, it gives tips on careers, and provides relocation
tools. The job gallery allows you to search for jobs in a specific area
wher the search for job links is very general. Allows you to searchr 3
million jobs.
Allows you to search through a job databank
containing one million jobs, post resume on line, and set up automated
job search. Select a job title from 22 job categories that are then broken
into specific occupations. Then select a zip code and choose the
range of miles from the originating zip code to search for jobs. The search
will give the job title, location, salary, education and experience needed.

can be searched by job title, industry, and community. A person can post

for employees. Also gives advice about careers, salaries, resume writing,
etc. It allows you to swap job search tips. This site allows for
searching by state, city, and job category. There are equal opportunities
in the US and abroad.
Allows you to seaarch under 11 different
department areas and 14 different career categories. The career sites give
you a list of companies and provides information about each company.
Provides information about tests you
can take in regards to career and personality. Gives the "What," Where's,"
and "How's" of careers and fields. Also allows you to seach companies in

This site is good for professional counselors because it highlights current

are available, also includes advertisements for jobs. It also provides

discusses etiquette and ethics. This site provides career opportunities
for specific majors and gives you tips to surviving your first year.
Allows you to browse the infromation
network which includes items such aas army publications and agency for

can be explored.

The Job Lead Bank lists numerous websites for job searching.
Allows you to job search, search employers,
post resumes, and access job search tools. You can compare salaries and
they will email you jobs that fit your interests.
Allows you to search for jobs in the
Pittsburgh area. You can also post your resume and search for jobs in specific
cities. This site contains less than 100 jobs and links to newspaers. It
also pertains more to computer and technical employment in PA.
Offers hot career openings, candidate

for relocation. There is also information for employers looking to hire.
This site was very confusing to manuever.

Site for employers more than for people
looking for work. If you want to start a business, it would be helpful.
It provides information on regulations, codes, etc. It provides forms that
can be downloaded and an awesome site if you need to file for unemployment
benefits.
Allows you to look at current job openings
in USA and overseas along with contact people. Also, it lists contact
and temporary jobs. You can subscribe to a job notification list
and employers can advertise jobs on this site. Most of these jobs are not
related to counseling. These are mostly professional or manager positions.
Responsible for filling all non-civil
service positions in government agencies. A recruitment spotlight
discusses areas of shortages. You can apply online. There are additional
links for non-civil service employment and there is pay scale available
for your use. You can also download an employment opportunities bookloet.
It also offers internships and seasonal programs.
"The springboard to career and job related
sites." A site to link to jobs by field, location, resources, career
library resources, assessment tools, employment centers, etc. Other
links available: Online Career Fair, College Career Fairs, and Job Outlook
2001. This site provides a job search guide, international resources, and

This site allows
for one to fill out an application for financial aid online, get more information
about student financial aid programs, one can e-file their taxes, and there
are links for questions and to check the status of pending applications.
This is a scholarship
search site. It starts by having you enter basic information about
yourself. It will probably take 15 minutes to complete this profile.
The site advertises 300,000 scholarships available.
This site provides
information about loans, scholarships, and military aid. Once a category
is selected, you are given a large list of aid available. There is
a lot of information on this website. It is a great page. Just plan
on spending a lot of time looking through the information.
This site provides
a list of all financial aid available. It also provides a search
box for financial aid.
This site allows
for students to register for the SAT online as well as prepare for various
tests. It provides practice questions for SAT, PSAT, AP, and CLEP.
Options are available to have questions answered that students may have.
It also provides a guide for applying to college and how to get financial
aid. The site also had a section for parents, students, and counselors
to interpret the SAT scores.
This site contains
two directories: Parent directory and Athletic Scholarships.
The athletic scholarships provides information that would be useful to
high school athletes. The parent directory takes you to the galaxy
mall.
This site contains
information on loan terms, applications, allows access to your account,
group information, and financial aid information for students and their
families.
This site gives
the user the opportunity to search the Educational Assistance Program,
which includes tips on how to apply for admissions to college and provides
assistance with the financial aid process. There are listings of colleges
and universities, information on careers and resource materials.
These services are not free or accessible to everyone. They must
be purchased, and the program is called "Need a Lift."
This site is for
a program that is one of the oldest and largest Federal Family Education
Loans Program, which is a guaranty agency. It offers loans to students
who are having difficulty finding funds for college. This site enables
one to ask questions and it sets you up with your own representative that
will guide you through the loan process. This site provides many
links that are beneficial.
This site is a
nonprofit organization comprised of researchers, academics, financial aid
counselors, and financial planners. The goal is to improve the quality
of life of families and individuals who, regardless of their income, are
struggling to get ahead in life.
This site is very
useful and helps students get started on loan applications. This
appears to be a bank helping graduating seniors gather general information
for scholarships and grants. There are also links for different scholarship
resources and tips to help with scholarship applications.

and click on seach. By typing in scholarship scams, you will be able

collection of agencies and organizations working in the administration
of the Federal Family Education Loan Program. It provides $291 billion
in student loans.
This site provides
information about loans and gives the user the option of applying for a
loan online. There are 4 links: loans, debt management tools, college
planning, and a link for financial aid managers. If you go to the
college planning section there are three options: steps to success,
saving for college, and financial aid calendar.
This appears to
be a book about how to help prepare your child for college. It seems
to provide a variety of options, not just 4 year colleges. There
was one section geared to counselors.
This site provides
information about loans that are available for schooling. The About
Us section says the company is the leading provider for educational loans.
The home page gives 4 sections that one can access: account self-service,
planning/paying for school, current borrowers, and schools.
This site is easy
to use. It has several links regarding payment centers, scholarships,
financial aid, collegecard, and more. This website is suitable for
all students, but one must register to access scholarship information.
This site has
moved, but it provides access to the new site. It describes where
one can go to find scholarships. This site is good for graduate and
undergraduate students.
One has to register
in order to get information for scholarships. If one logs in, it
describes finding free money for college.
This website and
the State Aid and FFELP site are the same.
This site gives
help to those applying for loans. One can apply online, request application
forms, download information about different types of loans, find out about
internet scholarships, and it provides resouce links for more financial
aid sites.
This is a GI bill
website that is mainly for children of veterans or veterans themselves
needing financial aid. It also provides other veteran sites for other
services.

information for those students considering getting financial aid from this
banking company. It is not useful for everyone.

the most popular web links to grants and scholarships. It is very
easy to use, but there is too much information.

This site provides
a college search and includes tips and articles on admissions, financial
aid, and campus life.
This site provides
the user with 8 useful links. You can use this site to apply to a
college online. It also includes information about schools abroad and schools
nationally.
This site requires
membership, but membership is free. It offers information for students,
parents, counselors, enrollment managers, etc. about colleges.
This site is more
difficult to use. It provides a college search and allows one to
choose 2 year, 4 year, and Vo-Tech options. Provides more detailed
information about the college of you choice.
This is an easy
to understand website with simple graphics. It requires that one
be a member to access information about careers.
This is a site
for Pennsylvania's Postsecondary Schools. It provides specific career
areas, and once you pick a career area, it will give a list of PA schools
that offer that particular program. You can also refine your search to
certain areas of the state. If you highlight a particular school,
very indepth details are available about that school.
This is the same
as the scholarship search above.
This site allows
for one to choose a state or school. When choosing a state, it will
provide a list for all schools in that state. Not all schools provide
a virtual tour options, but you can connect directly to the school's website.
This site is very
interactive and seems to be a site that lures students to apply for a credit
card. It gives the ability to apply for a VISA card, has options to access
information on finances, offers, and promotions. Information is given
on how to use a credit card wisely.
This site includes
information about American Universities offering Bachelor's and Master's
Degrees.
This site is designed
specifically for Asian-Pacific students who are interested in pursuing
either a 2 or 4 year undergraduate/graduate degree in the United
States.
This site is maintained by a special
needs school in Massachusetts and provides information regarding this school.

which allowed for research and application and financing online for everything.

This is a homepage that provides 6 links
that give you information about the school, provides information for perspective
students and current students. Also included is information about
faculty, staff, and a website of the week. One can also access weather
for the campus on this site.

not very user friendly. It provided a quick search box that gives
career categories in alphabetical order. Once you select a career,
it will display a condensed version of the jobs in that category.

stocks, and taxes. There is a job search, a training center, and
a place to access top employers salaries. Offers advice for advancing your
career as well and has a weekly career advice section.

You can receive one-on-one counseling
for a small fee ($19.95) and can also use the quickstart career wizard
to assess whether you have what it takes to be in the field of your choice.
It contains financial aid information, career guidance, and information
on colleges and universities. Ther is information regarding the LSAT test
preparation and on studying abroad.
This site answers questions, provides
information on careers through options in career clusters and then selection
of a specific occupation. It allows for links to larger databases
like the Occupation Outlook Handbook. It explores paying for college and
finding the right college. It contains a human resources department.
This site is designed to teach about
the basic skills of career exploration. The 3 categories are: awareness
of self, information about occupations, and links to matching occupations.
It provides different tests that can be taken in each category.
This is a site of tests including personality,
I.Q., love, health, career, and many more. Do you have what it takes to
be an entrepreneur? It was found that this site was more fun than informative.
This is a game based on Holland's classification
that helps people determine career interests. One can pay to take the Self-Directed
Search on-line ($8.95). It gives examples and descriptions of each
job under RIASEC.
This site was not found, but there are
other links listed. If you click on us.news.com/usnews/edu/careers/cchome.htm,
it lists interactive tools such as entry-level jobs, career self-assessments,

searching. Under assessment, there is a Campbell Interest and Skills Survey.

School Career Development Programs
This is a website for a high school
counseling center. It was really interesting. There were a
lot of helpful links and good information. There was even a counselor
evaluation survey.
This site is a virtual guidance office.
It provides links to career and vocational counseling, as well as links
to online homework and SAT help.
This site was nicely done and had a
Guidance Department News and Events section, as well as, favorite links,
scholarships, local colleges, and information on ACT and SAT registration.
It is very easy to use.
Gives links to personal decision making,
college planning, career information, testing and study skills, saving
for college, gap year, dealing with stress, financial aid and scholarships,
and the military.

This is a site
that contains a national grid for learning. Provides job sites, e-media,
and career development. Employment and career development services that
are centered in the United Kingdom.
This site provides various resource
materials for research and on topics of interest. It provides information
on careers, school violence, bullying, and more.
It allows you to select level of education,
and the Marines will tell you what your opportunities are. In the
life of a leader, you can learn the benefits, obligations, eligibility,
and frequently asked questions. It also provides many resources such
as one concerning leadership and officer links.
There were a lot of sites that have
to do with careers in the Air Force. This site had great graphics!
This site is user friendly and has good
graphics. The opening page displays a woman in the Navy. The problem
with this site is that it does not allow one to open any categories and
locks up the server.
This is a general site containing information
for anyone interested in pursuing an army career. Contains informatino
concerning recruitment, basic training, and soldier profiles.
This site provides information on services
the USCG provides, units and locations, and jobs available. It also
havs information on boating safety, law enforcement, and search and rescue.
This site allows you to apply for and
access information regarding Civil Service Jobs. You can sort by level
of education and type of job interested in. There are multiple listings
of jobs and requirements in varoius departments. It also will provide information
on how to apply for jobs in PA.
This is a link to a job search site.
This takes you to flipdog.com. It asks you what state and what kind
of job you are looking for. It does not list a lot of jobs.
Good for any search. It is not
really career specific.
A site that offers students at Stanford
hints on in-room computing, helping students use computers get jobs helping
others use their computers.
