Experience and Interests Dr. Nadene
A. L'Amoreaux joined our faculty in 1999. Nadene completed her doctoral
degree in the Kent State University (Ohio) Counseling and Human Development
Program. Her dissertation focused on perceptions that
Nadene completed her BA from Hiram College, received her MA degree from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, and she is a certified rehabilitation counselor. She has experience working with children in a partial hospitalization program, and counseling adolescents, couples, and families. Prior to coming to IUP, she had been a teaching fellow at Kent State, teaching and co-teaching practicum, small group processes, introduction to community counseling, introduction to counseling procedures, and couples theory and technique. She has co-authored two articles which were published in 1998, including a book chapter on reflecting teams in supervision and an interview with Dr. Robert Smith, one of the founders of the American Association of Marriage/Family Therapists (AAMFT). She also co-authored two articles with colleagues from Kent State: Page, B.J., Delmonico, P.L., Walsh, J., L'Amoreaux, N.A., Danninhirsch, C., Thompson, R.S., Ingram, A., & Evans, A.D. (2000). of the American Counseling Association, the Pennsylvania Counseling Association
for Counselor Education and Supervision, the Association of Counselor Education
& Supervision, the Pennsylvania Counseling Association, and the North
Central Association for Counselor Education and Supervision. She has made
numerous counseling related presentations at the All Ohio Counselors' Conference,
North Central Regional Conference, and the American Counseling
Research interests include counselor-in-training development, the use of technology in counseling interactions as well as in counselor education training programs.
