Post-Master's Certification Program
(Educational Specialist Certificate)


The Post-Master's certification requirement of 33 credits is designed to provide the student with the specific clinical skills necessary to function as a school psychologist. Courses focus on the role of the psychologist (3 credits), assessment (9 credits), biological bases of behavior and exceptionality (3 credits), as well as consultation and counseling (6 credits). Nine credits of practicum are required, as well as six credits of internship. Specialist-level students are required to complete 1,200 clock hours of internship, half of which must be completed in a school setting. Grades of "B" or better are required for all certification coursework. Courses may be repeated should a student earn a grade below a "B." (Refer to "Course Repeat Policy.")
