Candidates review the PSSA data and Achievement Report (and specific students' test results when made available) for the school where they are conducting their field experience and/or student teaching placement.




Candidates discuss the trends with their EDUC 342 and Student Teaching Seminar instructors and determine possible instructional strategies and  interventions.





Candidates (with the guidance of their EDUC 342 and Student Teaching Seminar instructors) review the school district strategic plan and curriculum, interview the cooperating teacher, and review the literature (e.g, PDE's SAS) for instructional strategies and interventions that align with the identified problem areas specific to their field and student teaching placement.




Teacher Work Sample (TWS) assignment (with pre and post test assessments) used to desmostrate IUP teacher candidate impact on P-12 student learning.


Highest Quality Student Teacher Work Samples (TWS)
identified during student teaching seminar to be showcased at TECC, student teacher meeting, cooperating teachers' workshop, and/or Undergraduate Scholars Forum.


NCATE Accreditation review validates the use of this assignment as an effective way to demonstrate impact on P-12 student learning.
