Automatically forwarding IUP e-mail to another account.

To check, set, or reset a forwarding address, you will need to know your IUP username and password.   If you do not know your username and password, you can learn your account information by following the instructions at http://www.iup.edu/ats/sts/docs/username.htmlx

NOTE: If you have never logged in to IUP e-mail in the past, then the password that you learn from the procedures above will not work.   You will need to change your initial password before you can check/send e-mail from your IUP account, set a forwarding address, or check your quota.   A web page to change your password is available.

Forwarding IUP e-mail to another account is possible by using the web page at http://www.iup.edu/email/setforward.htm.   Additional information and assistance is available from that web page.   An option to turn off the e-mail forwarding process exists on this page also.   Please remember to turn off your e-mail forwarding if you decide to cease using your other account, or decide to use your IUP account as your primary e-mail account.

The Student Computing Help Desk recommends that after you set a forwarding address to an off-campus account, you should send a test message in e-mail to your IUP account.   This message can be very short, since you are just testing if the message is being forwarded to your other account properly.   If the test message is not received at your other account, you will need to make sure that the address you set as your forwarding address is actually the correct address.   An option to check your current forwarding address also exists on the web page for setting a forwarding address (see above).

The team at the Student Computing Help Desk (139 Gordon Hall) can assist you with this process if you wish to visit the office between the hours of 10am and 6pm weekdays.
