Educational And School Psychology
The Position: The Department of Educational and School Psychology (EDSP) at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the Assistant Professor/Associate Professor level to begin January 2008.
Required qualifications for the position include a doctorate in School Psychology (graduates from NASP/APA accredited programs are preferred), certification as a School Psychologist, and experience as a practicing school psychologist. The preferred qualifications include a minimum of two years of experience teaching in higher education in addition to an established record of scholarship as demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications. Candidates must communicate effectively and perform well during the interview(s) which may include a teaching demonstration. All applicants must be work eligible.
Qualifications: Duties for the position include teaching undergraduate courses in educational psychology and educational assessment, and graduate courses in our school psychology programs which include, but are not limited to: clinical practica, assessment, internship supervision, and dissertation advisement. Additional responsibilities include committee work, advisement of graduate students, and university service. The successful candidate may also be assigned to perform work at off-campus sites and/or provide instruction through distance education.
The EDSP department currently consists of eight full time tenure track faculty members and two full time temporary faculty members housed within the College of Education and Educational Technology. The department houses three centers: The Child Study Center, The Center for Educational and Program Evaluation, and the Center for Rural Gifted Education. In addition to providing courses to undergraduate teacher preparation students, the department offers an undergraduate minor, serves as the home for an honors available to Teacher Education students, a Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology, and NASP accredited specialist (Ed.S.) and doctoral (D.Ed.) programs in school psychology.

Developmental Education Specialist – Department of

Full Time Tenure Track Position
Position: Indiana University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a position with the Department of Developmental Studies as a Developmental Education Specialist. This is a generalist position in the field of developmental education with a specialty in developmental mathematics, supported by background and experience. The position is a full time, tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant level to begin in August 2008.
Qualifications: An earned doctorate in developmental education, mathematics education, educational psychology, or related field required; at least three years of professional teaching experience at the post-secondary level; professional post-secondary teaching experience in developmental mathematics; professional classroom or lab experience working with diverse populations of developmental students at the post-secondary level; and a knowledge of the current literature of developmental education. Additional developmental education experience may include: experience with first year programs or courses, developmental advising, professional post-secondary teaching of other developmental courses or skills courses. Teaching experience at the masters or doctoral levels, and participation in post-secondary educational experiences related to developmental education will enhance the credentials of applicants through the screening process. Candidates must communicate effectively and perform well during interviews, which may include a teaching demonstration. All applicants must be work eligible.
Duties: Travel to any campus of IUP to teach assigned sections of DVST courses related to experience or expertise; developmental advisement; interpret diagnostic test results; work with DVST and IUP faculty and staff to develop, coordinate, or supervise peer assistance programs; serve on department, college, and university committees; participate actively in all aspects of the coordinated Department of Developmental Studies Program; and engage in professional development and continuing scholarly growth in accordance with the collective bargaining unit.

The Developmental Studies/Act 101 Department was formed in 1985 and serves as both an academic support program for the entire undergraduate student body and a comprehensive freshman year program for students displaying evidence of a developmental profile. Programs offered include: credit-bearing courses, Supplemental Instruction, walk-in tutoring, study skills workshops, intensive advising/counseling, and a pre-college program.

Professional Studies in Education Faculty Position
Position: The Department of Professional
Studies in Education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania seeks applicants for
a full-time tenure track position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level to
begin August 2008. The department strongly encourages applications from
scholars of diverse backgrounds with a commitment to multicultural
education. Our rapidly expanding and
varied graduate programs require additional faculty with expertise in quantitative
and qualitative research. Preference
will be given to candidates with background in early childhood education
(PreK-4), literacy, or teaching English Language Learners. In addition to teaching both undergraduate
and graduate courses, faculty members advise students, engage in scholarly activities,
serve on departmental and university-wide committees, conduct research, write
grants, supervise undergraduate and graduate field experiences, and serve on
dissertation committees. Both teaching
and supervision at off-campus sites and branch campuses will be a
