Purpose: Allows user to scan and import images onto portfolio

Getting Started:
    Click on Start (lower left hand corner of screen)
    Click on Programs
    Click on Adobe
    Click on PhotoShop 4.0
This will open PhotoShop.
Place your image in the scanner (make sure it is turned on).

Click on File / Import / Twain 32

A Preview box should appear:

Place your image in the scanner.  It should be face down with the top pointing up and the bottom left hand corner against the bottom left hand corner of the scanner.

Next click the Preview button. The scanner will scan a preview of your image.
Use the dotted line to select the part of the image you want scanned (you can select the entire image if you like).

Next Click the Settings button to choose what kind of image you want. 

 

Under the image type button, you can choose whether you want a color image, a line art image, an image in 256 shades or gray (black and white), etc.  

For a text image, choose 256 shades of gray.
For a color image, choose Millions of colors

You should also set the resolution to 72.

The Settings Screen can also be used to control the image’s brightness, contrast, etc.

Once you have the settings to where you like them, click the Scan button on the Preview box.
This will scan your image to PhotoShop.

Once the process is complete, close the Preview box by clicking on the "X" on the upper right hand corner.

Your image will now be in PhotoShop, where you can either use the toolbars to draw, edit, enhance, etc. the image.

To save the image, choose File then Save As..

First, in the Save In box choose where you want your image saved. For example, the A: drive, the C: drive, etc.

Next name your image.

Then, in the Save As box at the bottom, choose JPEG (*JPG, *JPE)

Then click Save
