New Faculty Computers for
2006-2007
The following faculty computers will be
replaced during
2006-2007 ( approximately $760 per computer provided by the Provost and
$200 by
the College):
We configure and order each faculty computer individually, based on
their specific needs. A typical faculty computer configuration
includes: Dell Optiplex GX520 computer (3 GHz Pentium processor,
1 GB RAM, CD/DVD reader-CD burner, 80 GB hard drive, Windows XP Pro,
Microsoft Office 2003 Pro, and other software as needed). Laptop
computers can be ordered instead of desktop computers when needed, but
the extra cost must be provided by the department.
Note that the university
policy is to replace faculty computers every three years, and the used
faculty
computers are then available to assign to student workers and part-time
faculty
within the College.
